Richelle has a birthday September 16, 2013

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHELLE

Richelle is synonymous with wife, mother, author, poet, artist, cake decorator, and Eena, the character in her books.  Hop aboard and we'll take you on a ride through her mind's eye. It's called the REG Train and we will be making numerous stops along the way, so lean back and enjoy yourselves.

First Stop, The Home Scene:

First thing you see at their home is a well-groomed yard of grass and landscaping. Larry put in the sprinkling system and planted the grass. What we are looking at now is Richelle's landscaping of the garden in the front.  It is done with a cast-iron pot over a campfire (please no matches), an antique wheel barrow, an old wheel from a covered wagon of long ago, and the tallest lilies

I have ever seen.

Next Stop, Piratesville:

Meet her boys, Philip, William, and Alexander. What about the other two. Are they real? Richelle confesses, “I'm secretly hoping to run into Jack Sparrow.” Okay, so who is Jack Sparrow and where's his ship? (Johnny Depp as CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow! From the film Pirates of the Caribbean!)
Next Stop, The Museum of Arts:

You will have a 45 minute layover; please be back in your seats by then. The Museum sponsors a panoramic view of pictures, quotes and books which have been drawn, painted or written by Richelle.

She is author to three published books and one to be released soon. Her boys think the drawing of Eena looks a lot like their mother. What do you think?(Volume 1) Eena, Dawn and Rescue; Eena, (Volume 2) The Return of a Queen; (Volume 3) Eena, The Curse of Wanyaka Cave.

Disappearance of Annabelle Fancher has been published; She wrote many quotes that may be found on the Internet, and she illustrated two books, Clarence The Clown” which Larry wrote “Loosey Goosey”, which Stefanie Giles who sister wrote.

Next Stop, Goodrich Fishery:

There are fish in these waters, just ask this fisherman and his buddies and they'll tell you no tales, no need for spinning yarn, but just good ol' patient waiting, clever fish bait, and some Goodrich luck helped reel in these fish. A family who fish together stay together.

Walleye, the specie of fish Richelle caught as the biggest fish among the family fishing in Moses Lake one particular day, can reach and exceed 10 pounds.

Next Stop, The Ancestral Antiques and Classics:

You will be returning to the past. By using the Elucidator we can punch in the date and place you want to go. Are you ready? “Brace yourselves,” said the conductor. “Please, no arms or heads hanging out the windows. You are in for a insanely, high-tech ride through the corridors of time. You may become a little discombobulated, but it will pass.” The train rolls along the tracks, picking up momentum. Faster it goes until it leaves the tracks and it is drawn into the vortex of time launching into a void of darkness, of nothingness. Time passes.  Soon light is speeding pass and images beginning to appear.  Tracks reach up and grab the train and pull it
down, down, onto the ground where it lands with a screeching halt. You have arrived. Welcome to the Past.

Meet Richelle's charming relatives. This is Great, Great Grandfather Alexander Baird who was a strong and personable individual. Imprisoned during polygamy raids in early Mormon history with Bishop Harper and George Q. Cannon.  Alexander is the one on the right with a dark beard.
Remember Aunt Lois, one of Dad's favorite aunts. She was a bushel of character with a heart of gold, and a smile and laugh to tickle your funny bone.  She and Uncle John sang many duets for church activities and holidays with John playing his guitar. She was the first person we stopped to see when visiting with Grandpa and Grandma Starr.

Meet Richelle's stuffed animal friends and cat Sheba who are watching some of the first episodes of Sesame Street with Big Bird, Oscar The Grouch, and Snuffleupagus. Remember this,

“Shiny day, sweepin' the clouds away, On my way to where the air is sweet. Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street.”

All Aboard, Next Stop:  Land of Enchantment

The Elucidator is punched with correct coordinates and announcements made that everyone belt up, “You will be experiencing another high-tech SiFi ride. Hang on.” Chug, Chug, and the train begins rolling along, soon speeding down the tracks and lifting up and away to the vortex in the sky. You experience utter nothingness, weightlessness but soon are feeling more normal. Suddenly strange lights are streaming by but unfamiliar images are disturbing to you. Can't make out what they are. Glowing eyes, colors of yellow, blue and red.  "What are they?" ask one on-looker. "It looks like.. Can it be?  Yes, it is.   It's Naga, Eena's friendly dragon and Ascultone with his contemptuous frown; and there's Zmey the yellow-eyed beast from stories, but I thought he only existed in storybooks! and Herensuge.   Ascultone looks mad, it looks like he wants something. We'd better leave. Hurry!

All Aboard, Next
Stop, Homeward Bound:

Coordinates are punched into the Elucidator. Instructions are being given to the passengers, “Belt up. Windows closed. Brace yourselves. You will be going back, back, homeward bound,” spoke the conductor. And slowly the train rolls down the tracks, picking up speed and swoosh, off it goes, like a speeding bullet, into the void of nothingness. Time passes. Suddenly light is passing by quickly and familiar images are appearing. Train tracks are coming into view. Down, down, clank, you have returned to Moses Lake, the windy city west of the Rocky Mountains. The home of the Canadian Geese, Blue Heron, the White Ecret, the Swans,  the rodeo, boat races, demolition derby races, Pot Holes Park and Reservoir, fishing, camping, the High School Chiefs, good places to dine out, phenomenons like rocks in the middle of the road, beautiful sunsets, wheat, potato, corn, onion and sunflower fields, sagebrush and the home of Larry and Richelle Goodrich.

Goals are my north star. My compass. The map that guides me along the road I wish to travel. Goals are motivations with wind in their sails - they carry me forward despite the storms.~ Richelle E. Goodrich

Next Stop: Birthday Extravaganza
