| In Cour D'Alene, Idaho |
Happy Anniversary, Larry and Richelle,
Remember when we all met in Cour D' Lane for a wedding. A little exploring around the lake for Larry and his future step-sons, family arriving, bride and groom primping and readying themselves, a daughter who's about to become big sister to three young boys, a tall slim man soon to become big brother to these boys, all waiting anxiously to see the bride and groom say, “I do.”
E-mail to Angie from Lanny just after their marriage: “Well your big sister's name is now Mrs. Richelle Goodrich. They had a very nice wedding at a place in Cour D' Alene, Idaho called the Wild Rose Inn. Larry's two older children were there along with Larry's step-mother, Mom and I were there and Richelle's three kids. She had them all dressed alike with little vests and ties. After the wedding we all went to “Chili's”to eat, then mom and I brought the kids home with us while Larry and Richelle are on their honeymoon.”
A lot has happened since then. This was back on April 16, 2004. Now eight years later Larry and Richelle will have the opportunity to throw their arms in the air and shout, "We did it, we have made eight years, now on to eight more times eternity!" This is a time to celebrate their struggles and accomplishments. We all have them. Struggles build; accomplishments and successes are the rewards. The boys are no longer toddlers but adolescents; Pegi is now a mother with a lovely little girl, Addison Jo; and Jason has a wife, Kendra, and they have two children, Levi and Max. Richelle and Larry are not only parents but have taken on the mantel of grandparents.
Larry is very much a part of the family and we love him and appreciate the help he offers around the house, with the garden and repairs of vehicles and removal of trees when necessary, etc. Although the two of them may be a little different in their likes and dislikes and ways of doing things, they are alike in their beliefs and ultimate goals, which is what counts. We are proud of them and the children who look to them as parents, and grandparents. Richelle is looking forward to publishing her first book and enjoys the literary arts. She shares her talents and abilities with friends and family. Larry is a hard worker and shares his talents and labor with his family and friends and has done a superb job at landscaping a large back yard, which makes you feel like you are in a public park. There is lots of room for the kids to play baseball, football, soccer, etc and when the snow flies, there is sleigh-riding down the slope just short of the creek.
Remember when the yard was nothing but dirt, weeds, rocks, and more rocks?
Remember when the five of you lived in a small two bedroom upstairs apartment?
Remember when Larry and Richelle hauled Angie's car back from Utah?
Remember when Richelle caught the biggest fish of the day?
Remember when Larry roasted a whole pig in the back yard?
Remember when Richelle and Larry surprised Lanny and I with a 40th Anniversary Party and family
from Missouri, Utah, Montana and Washington plus friends were there. We have never been more surprised.
Remember when Larry drove Lanny to the ocean to fish for salmon?
Remember the 50th birthday party celebration for Larry at the church and the scrumptious food? He wanted to celebrate by barbequing for his family and friends.
Remember when Larry rescued Lanny from the two women at home who were driving him crazy and took him along while he drove Philip, Alex, and Willy to meet their Dad for the weekend. This gave Richelle a night out with the girls which all good women need!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AND MAY YOU GROW OLD TOGETHER AND BE HAPPY EVER AFTER.
