Happy Birthday Alexander, We remember when you were just a wee little toddler, or even smaller, and in a flash you have become a young man.  WOW.

Time flashes by, hold on, for you will be looking back wondering where time

went.

It's been a riot having you share our lives, or being able to share your life.

You have been helpful in the garden over the past eight years and without

you, William and Philip, I wouldn't have as nice a garden. Course Grandpa and Larry helped too.

 

  And watching you, Willy and Philip chase butterflies was a hoot.  After a while you got pretty good at it.   I love to be able to walk through the garden.  It's like winding through the enchanted forest and following the little brick path to the other side.  We found a few little varmints now and then, a mole, lots of ants, butterflies, and insects.  But never an alligator.

Watching you play T-ball and soccer was fun.  It may have not been your favorite thing to do but you did it.  Trudging through the early morning studies during the summer was fun, and in the end you gained a beginning skill of the 3  R'S of learning which are reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic.    Remember the Big Red Book of Beginner Books?  Curious George, Dr. Seus, and others.

And I actually enjoyed learning with you as you worked on Scout badges over the last few years.  Now you will soon be working on your Eagle Project, which is a great accomplishment for any young man.

And your ability to sketch and paint when you wanted to was awesome.  This dragon may have taken a long time but you have something to show for it.  Let see, you began right after the fair in 2011 and didn't finished until just before the fair in 2012.  There's more to this painting than meets the eye with the fabric dyes applied.  You splattered and splashed the paints on to make a more durable canvas.  You have a moving sky which creates action in your picture  and your bodywork on the dinosaur is your signature as a painter.  Enjoy the ribbons, they are harder to win when you get older and the competition becomes more fierce.

 And it was fun watching you tackle your first job in assembling tricycles, small tractors, bicycles,  wagons and a lawn mower.

Taking guitar lessons made your grandma and grandpa proud.  Grandpa always wanted to play guitar now he can enjoy knowing some of his grand kids play.  Keep it up.  There is musical talent in the Starr side of the family so you inherited your musical ability from them.  Keep on playing. However my brother did mention that my Dad played the Harmonica.  

And of course there is your favorite activity, the never ending games of Nintendo, X-box, Game Cube and Wii and whatever else has come into existence. Yoshi was a favorite in the beginning.  And you would frustrate Philip so in your experimenting and wandering through the game of Yoshii.  You got better at it than anyone so your method must have worked.

I put together a movie with the Window Movie Maker, tried to put Shogo's Pokemon piano number to it, but it wouldn't accept it, so it's a silent movie.  Pay close attention, it isn't as random as you think, it is just a journey throughout your life to some degree, with exaggerations.
